To benefit CATHY SPAGNOLI

At the Blue Heron Arts Center
19704 Vashon Hwy, Vashon Island, WA
Long time Vashon Island resident and an internationally acclaimed storyteller, Cathy Spagnoli. is now recovering from 3 brain surgeries, due to a brain cancer. The Seattle Storytelling Guild held the first benefit for Cathy on Earth Day and was able to gather $2000 due to the great line-up of tellers, the generous gifts donated to the silent auction and the kindness of all who attended and helped to organize the event.
Now, some of Vashon Island’s most talented musicians are collaborating with Seattle Storytelling Guild members to raise more needed funds for Cathy’s ongoing extensive medical treatments. This upcoming concert promises to be a full afternoon of entertainment and surprises for ages 9-90.
Take a lovely Sunday afternoon ferry ride to hear acclaimed Celtic singer & musician Jasper Forrester and singer & Celtic guitarist Will Forrester. Also guitarists Kevin Almeida and Charles Reed, Shane Jewell on mandolin, Jacque Barbash on keyboard - all great singers along with a few musical surprises!
Hear wonderful Seattle Guild Storytellers: Seattle’s renowned Pat Peterson & Sharon Creedon and Vashon storytellers Merna Hecht & Allison Cox. Some performers will even be auctioned off "on the spot" to entertain at your own upcoming events. There will be another Silent Auction of donated art, books, storytelling goodies and more!
What gathering would be complete without free sumptuous desserts for everyone? This will be a full afternoon of joyous entertainment for ages 9 to 90! Tickets available here and also at The Vashon Bookshop, and at the door if still available. Suggested Donations are Adults - $20, Seniors and Youth - $15.
Cathy is a world-wide performer and author of award winning children’s books, storytelling collections for adults, and so many wonderful books, tapes and CD’s. Cathy has printed on the bookmarks this Vietnamese saying:
What is carved on rocks will disappear in time.
What is told from mouth to mouth will live forever.
